Oh the joy of being sick

I was off to such a great start this week and then I came down sick, so I didn't have the energy to do anything creative.

BUT, today I am starting to feel better so I finished a few cards to send off.

Here is a card I made for a sketch challenge.

And, here is a Halloween card I made for a couple of friends.




I used the same witch face for my Granddaughter's cards but left off the saying on the front and image on the inside. And, instead, on the inside it says "Boo to You"

I don't normally send out Halloween cards but one of my friends had these cute Third Coast Stamps and I just had to stamp off some images.

Now it's off to make a few Thanksgiving cards and then concentrate on Christmas!

You know that Christmas is just less than 60 days away, right?

Weekend Retreat

Last weekend, four gals came to spend the weekend at my house. We are all on a Yahoo group together and every year, I put on a mini retreat at my home.

We had a great time! Lots of stamping, eating and just plain FUN!! Everyone brought a project or two to share, a door prize for the drawing and we each took turns fixing a meal!!!

One project that we did was a Holiday Card List book! This will be perfect to keep track of the cards that are sent out at Christmas time. Another idea would be to make one for birth dates. Jo C shared this project with us.

Here is a fun Post it Note holder using TAC's Willoughby paper, coasters and a bind it all.

I didn't remember to take a photo of the inside, but you open it up and a Post it Note pad is on the right hand side. This was one of my projects.

Another fun project was using a box of Thin Mints and wrapping it to look like a snowman. Lawrian T shared this one with us.

I haven't finished embellishing mine, but I will show it here just to give you an idea of how dang cute this is. It would make GREAT gifts for teachers at Christmas time or Grandparents. It's something the kids can actually make themselves with a little supervision (because of the hot glue gun)
I plan on adding some eyes and buttons down his front.

We did some other projects/cards, but I didn't get a chance to take a photo of them.

One was an adorable card of a Moose with ornaments hanging off his antlers and the other was a cute way to fold a card front. I'll be sure to get them uploaded as soon as I finish them and get them photographed.

I also taught the Flip Flop book, once again, and the gals did an awesome job! But, I was too caught up in jabbering to remember to take photos of their finished creations! Dang, they were all so cool, too!!

We had a fabulous weekend!!! I just wish I had remembered to take photos of all the projects and fun we had.

Another WAG share

Yes, I am still doing my Fall cleaning.  I really love this time of year when the weather is a little cooler, although it's sort of let me down today as it's 75º and still rising.  I don't LIKE to clean when it's warm.  :-(

So, I am back in the office/stamp room with the A/C on (I know, I am a whoooos) and rearranging stuff and going through lots of drawers and tossing and regifting.

That's basically what I am doing in all the rooms this month.  I have thrown away, put in a garage sale box or bagged up for Goodwill...so many things that I just didn't think I could part with, but the older you get, the more you realize that you CAN'T take it with you...and me being the one that had to go thru all of my Mom's things and 'decide' what to do with what........I don't want to put that on anyone.  

Since I don't have time to sit and make anything for a few days, I'll post something from WAG for the next few days.

Above is an adorable post it note holder that Chan Dalrymple designed.  It uses TAC's Miss Moxie SWIC designer paper and the Bind It All.  Here is the inside, below.  It's bright and cheerful and something you could leave in your car or put in your purse.  It makes cute little hostess gifts, too.

Birthday Card

My Son's 40th birthday was last Saturday.  He is enjoys golfing and football.  Since I couldn't find anything with Raiders on it....I decided to do a Waterfall card with golfing images.  

I used the Swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder and had a black and white theme.  I would have used a black and silver theme.....for the Raiders colors, but didn't have any silver paper.

I found some Golf background paper at a scrapbook store and used the set FORE from TAC.  I embossed the background paper AND the white strip you attach the images to....to give it a 'golf ball' look.  Attached a black and white ribbon.....two white buttons.

Inside it says...."Happy FOREtieth Birthday"

I also made another one almost identical for one of my 'kids' that I used to babysit.  He is now in his mid 20's and going through a rough time with cancer, a rare one especially for his age.

Back to the stamp table!!!

Cards from yesterday

Here are two cards we did at yesterday's TAC party.

The first one we used TAC's Willoughby designer paper, Plum 2 DCWV cardstock and "Celebration Time" stamp set.

Of course had to get a scalloped punch in there :-) I love being able to layer with punches.









The other one we did was using one of the images from the "Good Timber" stamp set (TAC) and the Cuttle Bug embossing Folder, Bark.

Gotta love those embossing folders!!! They add such a fun touch.
I have some other cards to share, but better save some for another day ;-)

Survivor Thursday and other Reality TV

Wow...I can't believe Fall is finally here and a new season of Survivor starts tonight. I have watched this show since it started. And, I still like it!

Last night, we watched DWTS (Dancing with the Stars). I love this show...but I think I am a little weary of them inviting some people on that couldn't dance their way out of a paper bag. That's ok, but when America votes to keep them in and let others go that CAN dance or at least are improving....it's disappointing. Enough said.

I also like The Biggest Loser.....but found the other night that we had to watch one station, record another show on another station with the DVR, and then switch back and forth to another show we wanted to watch on another channel...all on the same night. Why do they do that to us? It was just that night but I think it's going to continue for the season.....oh well.

Most of the time, we can't find anything we are really all that interested in watching. So, we watch old Law and Order reruns ;-)

We try to give a few of the new shows a try, each season, and see if they are worth watching. We tend to find very few that we like, so we watch reality shows or old movies on AMC or reruns.

I should stamp at night, but I am not a night time hobbyist. I get it done in the daytime or not at all unless I am under the gun to finish a project.

Another Week

Well, hubby's vacation time is over and now it's time to start a new week. The last couple of weeks have been a blast! It's been great having him home.

Here is another fun project we did at WAG. Quick and easy!! It's a bottle hanger....just place it over your bottled water and if/when you need to add a little flavor....it's right there handy.

Another project we did was the Golf Tee holder which I had done before but this one uses different papers.


Never mind the funky mat behind the project. I just loved the part of the designer paper that this gal ended up with. Everyone had different pieces of the package....and this one just looked so cool.

Now, it's time to get back to business and get ready for a TAC party on Wednesday. I'll upload the projects when they are finished.

The Fall Supplement

Another Share

I have all my WAG stuff packed away for another year. Now, I am going through all the projects we made and getting them on a board to show at my next Stamp Club. I also need to send a few projects into TAC to show them what we did at WAG.

I took a break, last night, and finished a Flip Flop book that I had started at WAG when I was showing a group of gals how to make one. I will get that sent off tomorrow to a gal that just got married.

WAG is over for another year

It seems like the last month has been a whirlwind of activity. No, the last month or so HAS been a whirlwind of activity!! :-)

My granddaughter went home Aug 9th and I immediately started on my projects for WAG and after getting the order, had a specific time to get each one done. Thankfully, I was all done by the time we had to leave for a camping rally.

The camping rally was the 7th-11th of September in which I taught one class on mini books. We came home from that on September 10th and left on Sept 11th for WAG in Salem.

WAG (Western Angel Gathering) is over for yet another year. A lot of hard work and time went into preparing for this year's event. I had terrific help from Channie Dalrymple and Heather Schantz. They both helped me with the projects and Channie did all the printing of information for the notebooks, badges etc and they even had a hands on class of techniques. Thank you girls so much!!!

We had 16 projects, 6 techniques and one demonstration on doing the MZindorf technique which Vicky Ward taught. I will be featuring some of the projects, on my blog, over the next few days/weeks.

I showed some of the gals how to make Flip Flop books. By that time of night, tho, everyone was a zombie.....so not sure how much of it they retained....but by the looks of their books, they did awesome!

Now it's time to put everything from WAG away for yet another year. I have gone through and inventoried everything and packed it back into totes for hubby to take up to the attic.

I have a house to clean and get back in order, a workshop to prepare for......but no major events coming up in the near future.

I am so looking forward to Fall and Winter this year.....just to 'cozy down' and work on winter projects, get more reading done and get into my domestic mode. Here is one of the projects we did at WAG. It's a lip gloss holder to hang from your tree.


I got this idea from a gal that used chap stick....but I found some cute lip gloss containers with cute little hangers on them....and thought....how fun to make these for the Christmas tree.

Hopefully, now that all those events are over for another year, I can keep up on my blog a lot better.

Demonstrating for The Angel Company

Happy Thursday!!!

I just received my order for WAG (Western Angel Gathering) and will be quite busy in the days to follow getting my projects ready.

I have had some people ask me, lately, just what does it take to become a demonstrator for The Angel Company, and what are the benefits. So I decided that I would just put the information here on my Blog.

I have been with The Angel Company (TAC) for 9 years. I was the 109th demonstrator to join. It's been a really interesting road being involved with a brand new company and I am so proud of where they are heading.

When you join as a demonstrator, for TAC, you are referred to as an "Angel". That is what our demonstrators are called. Gosh, even at that....it would be worth joining, for me, cause I won't be called an Angel any other way :-)

What I love most about TAC is that they listen to their demonstrators. They love ALL their Angels, regardless of their 'status' in the company and the staff at headquarters is just awesome to deal with.

Another thing I absolutely love about TAC is that our sales minimum is only $100 in four months. I have heard that some other companies are upwards of $300 a quarter. And, the other thing I love is that our hostesses only need to have a $100 party to qualify for their hostess benefits!!! WHOOOHOOOO! So, even if someone ordered it all for themselves, they would qualify as a hostess.

AND, another thing I love is that our hostesses get to choose an item from the catalog at half off just for having a $100 party. And, that is in addition to the hostess Level A, B, C and D sets they can earn. What a great way to get something like the Scor-Pal, which is all the rage right now and WE carry it!

Another fun project

My Granddaughter made this album at our Stamp club meeting, a couple of weeks ago. I helped her with it but she chose the papers and added them to the book. She was really pleased with it. Next time she comes, we'll add photos.

Now I need to work on a few more. I am going to be doing a 50th Anniversary one and also a baby one.




Here is a card I made for a one on one swap. It features the TAC stamp set, 'The Morning Buzz'.
I added some Burnt Umber re-inker to white liquid applique for the 'coffee' and white liquid applique, heated, to resemble whipped topping. It doesn't show up too well in the photo.

I used the Divine Swirls Embossing Folder on DCWV card stock and ran it through my Big shot on all three pieces of card stock. Then I just softly hit it with a sanding block. I also pierced the scalloped piece behind the verse.

Gotta get the other stamps from this set out and make some cards using those.

I am feeling better and am not getting back to my stamping. Thanks for all of those that sent well wishes.

OH FUN!!!

Well, Tuesday started off well.  I woke up and found weird bumps all the way down my face...from my eye to my throat on the right side.  My head felt like I had a sunburn and I just hurt.  I wasn't feeling right but just thought I was tired from having my Granddaughter here.

I got caught up on my blog, did some other things around the house and on the computer and my face just continued to hurt.  So, I called the Dr to see if I could get in sometime this week. After explaining, she told me to go to Urgent Care of ER.

So, long story short, I went to ER....had high blood pressure, dizziness and shingles.  Oh FUN!!!!   
They caught it before they broke out....so were able to give me a steroid shot, anti viral meds and sent me home with a boat load of pills.

I have been wanting to kick back and rest a little, after taking my granddaughter home, but not quite this way :-)  Well, at least I can get caught up on so many things on the computer and my stamping.  :-)

They told me I wouldn't know what to do with all the energy I would get from the steroids, well, I am still waiting! :-)

So, bear with me.....I'll get something uploaded in the next day or so.
Here is a little mini book I made for my Granddaughter.   She wanted tags on the inside...as she loves lots of ribbons......and the ribbon isn't this gold looking in person..... my other one doesn't have the tags or ribbons but I also didn't take a picture of it.

   
I used one of the papers from the SWIC Angelee pack and TAC's Fancy Bet Alphabet.  I also used Stickles to do the inside of the Z.

Back to work

This weekend we took our granddaughter home.  I will miss her so much, but yet it's time to get back to a semi normal routine again.  :-)

I have gotten so far behind in everything so it will take me at least a week to catch up or at least make a dent in all the things I have let slide while she was here.  But, we had a great time together and it was so worth it all!!

Now, it's time to prepare projects for my annual WAG (Western Angel Gathering) to be held in Salem mid September.  I had my last meeting with my two coordinators...on Saturday.  We all have our specific jobs to do and we'll pretty much be working on them all of August and part of September.   It's such a FUN time, tho.....and it's so worth all the effort that goes into it.

I am also getting to share how to make a mini album at a Camping rally just a few days before WAG.

Here is a card I did a week or so ago while I was stamping with a friend.  It was for a swap on Paper Wings....an Angels message board.


I used the new Autumn Wishes set from TAC and stamped on white card stock with Autumn Leaves Kaleidacolor pad and added Stickles.

Autumn Wishes is stamped on Vellum using the Autumn Leaves K pad.

I hope to get more stamping time in this week!!!

Fun times at the Wilson house

It's AUGUST!!! Summer is coming to an end. I have to say, I am NOT a hot weather person but I have enjoyed this summer, so far, as it hasn't been terribly hot for long lengths of time. I can deal with the heat if I get a respite in between 100º weather. And, because, I have had my granddaughter for the summer.

July was a FULL month. We ended it up by going to the Fair and rodeo, last weekend. My granddaughter LOVES horses, so it's fun to watch her at these events.

I know that I still have to get through August (and it can get hot in August) but knowing September and FALL are right around the corner makes me happy.
I tend to 'cozy down' during the winter months, after WAG and I have done my Fall cleaning. So, I am looking forward to that.

One more week and our Granddaughter goes home. She will have been here for two months, this time. It's been so much fun having her here but I am also looking forward to some 'me' time to get a lot of projects done around the house, planning some upcoming events and getting back to stamping more.

I had the opportunity, this past week, to go play with two special friends. Tuesday, I went with my new friend, Mary Jo, to a scrapbook store and out to lunch. And, of course, I came home with paper! I can't go to a craft store, stamp store or scrapbook store and NOT come home with some background paper. Then we went for lunch at a health food cafe. It was very nice.

Then, on Wednesday, Zoey and I headed up to Sisters, OR and visited with another friend, Barb. She is only here during the summer months....so it's fun to get to spend time with her. I don't see her the rest of the year...as she goes to AZ for the winter.

She treated us like queens. She had a little morning snack and then we got busy and stamped. Then, we had a really nice lunch she had prepared.....and more stamping. Then, we just visited till about 7pm and headed for home. What a fun day!!!

The above card is what I came up with for a TAC swap I am in. I came up with another one, too, but since some of those gals check my blog, I figured I would leave something to their imagination. This was such a fun card to play with. I used the new Willoughby SWIC designer paper, Purple DCWV card stock and TAC's black card stock and the set "celebration time". That is my favorite stamp set this week ;-)

This is a photo of Barb's son's dog, OX! He's a Bull Mastiff....and HUGE....but a gentle giant!

Thursday, my Nephew came to Oregon to visit. He lives in northern WA...so it was so good to see him. I jokingly told him that I was going to post his photo on my blog....as he recently broke up with his girlfriend and I said I was going to advertise for a new one for him. So, just for kicks....here is his photo!

I know....I am so bad!!!!! It's the Irish in me...can't help it!! We'll see if he checks my blog ;-)

Sorry, KEVIN....but I told you I would do it!!! ;-)

Today, I promised my granddaughter we would watch the "I Love Lucy" DVD's we just got from Netflix and do some stamping.
