YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY IT ALL!!!

WHAT?????????????????????? Who said that?

ME!!  That's who!!  But, what I really mean is that you don't have to buy it all at ONCE.

This new catalog....WOWZA.....I am in love!!!

I sat down and wrote out my list and it's bigger than it's been in the last few years.  NOT that I didn't like the last catalogs, but some of the stamp sets just didn't 'grab me', ya know what I mean?   

No ONE catalog can appeal to every person out there.  Last year I had my favorites and of course, I got them.    

THIS YEAR....oh my word, I have way, way too many that I just HAVE to have....and that makes it difficult when you are on a tight budget. 

But, NOT impossible ;-)

I went on You Tube, before I was able to order, and watched some of the 'hauls' and seeing someone else just buying out the store, or so it seemed to me, was a little depressing, knowing I just can't do that.   

BUT, at the same time, it was SO MUCH FUN to be able to see all the products up close and personal :-)  And, to see their excitement over unpacking the new products

 Then, I make myself stop to think about it, "Could I even USE every one of those stamps and all that DSP and other stuff in a week or even two?"  Well, if you are super high energy, or had helpers, I guess you could....but those days, at least for me, are long gone.   And, if you are like me, I can only do so many cards at a time so it only makes sense to buy it a little at a time.  

And, to be honest, I kind of like to 'enjoy' each stamp set and have fun with it for awhile before moving on to another, as I get overwhelmed when I have too many options at once.  Where do I start???

So, in a few weeks, I'll send in another order.  And, a few weeks later....another order.  

SO, if you are feeling a little overwhelmed by the new catalog (as it's an awesome one) don't despair and feel bad because you want to get everything all at once, but you aren't able.    Most of us can't!

Just make out your priority list....yours will be different than mine or someone else's.

Decide which things you just have to have FIRST.....then, next....and so on.

So now that I have said all that...I have made my list of items that I want in the "most wanted" order! 

I hope to have something to share once I get my order put away as it just did come.

I am really excited!!  Oh wait, I said that already!!!

Well, a few weeks have gone by since my last post.  In the meantime, I have been busy reorganizing my pantry.  I got a gift card from Amazon and decided to use it to buy some storage containers.  They are the ones with the black labels.  I already had the ones with the red lids and a few others.  

If you know anything about me, you'll know I am in my element when I am reorganizing things.  This is something I had put off doing for awhile.  Now, the Organizer gene in me wants everything to match...but, I also am thrifty, so can't see getting rid of perfectly good containers just because they don't match.  :-)

I have my craft room all organized, once again, but am sure that I'll all of a sudden think of a better way to do something and off I'll go again.  I think that it's going to be an ongoing process.

Did get my Card Buffet for January done and sent out.  NOW am working on February's Card Buffet for my SU customers.   Last month's Card Buffet was using the Daisy Garden stamp. They seemed to like it, at least from a couple that got back to me. This month, I decided to use the Forever Fern stamp set.    

Other than that, I signed up for the online Card Maker Success Summit and have been busy watching videos from different vendors all weekend long.   What fun!!!  I'll be sure to sign up again, next year, if they still have it.  Learned a lot of fun things and also found stamp companies I didn't even know existed. 

We've been watching the Olympics when we can.  I can't even imagine going down some of those slopes.  My eyes see the scenery out further....and I think I would get distracted by those gorgeous mountains.

Survivor will start soon and we are avid fans of that show.  

We are still busy training our puppy, Daisy.  I guess she's not considered a puppy, anymore, as she'll be 8 months old at the end of the month.  She keeps us hopping, that's for sure. Border Collies have immense energy.....OLD people do not...lol  But, we do the best we can and she truly brings us a lot of joy!!

 I'm in an organizing mode.  I think I will work on our bedroom closet next.  I have clothes I haven't worn for a long time.  And, some clearly need tossed...but they are SO comfortable, even if they do have paint stains on them or little holes...lol.

We're so looking forward to Spring and planting a garden again.  But, that is still a couple of months away.  But, we can plan, anyway.

Really enjoyed making this card in lots of different colors and background papers.

We are almost through another month.  I need to come up with a fun project for our Granddaughter and I to do for Easter.   

We made cute wagons for Christmas.

They were made using brownie pans, sprayed with red paint, a rubber pancake turner for the handle and four sink stoppers.  We added some greenery and gave them as gifts.   Her Mom put some little stuffed animals in hers and had it out for a decoration.

Well, that's enough for one day....looking forward to sharing more in the next week or so.

Back to just plain Blogging!!

 

Hi Everyone!!!  Well, I have come to realize, after looking back on past posts from years of posting, that I would much rather blog about 'life' than about upcoming Stamping promotions!  

I got to looking back on past posts from quite a few years ago and I was more actively posting back when I just talked about daily life in general and things that interested me, along with the occasional stamping post.

So, although I am a Stampin' UP! demonstrator and I do love sharing cards.....I am not in it to make it my life's focus or a career. Never was.  I got into SU to get my products at a discount and IF anyone wanted to purchase from me, that was an added bonus and I appreciate it so much....but I have too many other interests than just SU to confine myself to that one thing.

So, this blog is going to go back to just being about what I feel like posting about and not promoting the latest stamp promotion or catalog.  I am not giving up Stampin' UP!....just refocusing my blog to posting about my life in general.  I've never been a sales woman and it is so hard for me to do that, so that's probably why I procrastinate doing it....but I do love talking about a variety of things in general...so that's just what I am going to do from here on out.  :-)  

So, first off, I realized after reviewing my posts of late, that I hadn't even introduced you to our newest family member, as of September!  Her name is Daisy and she was given to me by our Granddaughter, Nicki, for my 75th birthday.  The above was her puppy photo.  She has grown some since September and now weighs 32#.  She is quite the dog!!!  Wow....two over 75 year olds with a Border Collie, you can only imagine the 'adventures' we have daily but, she has wormed her way into our hearts.  We will NEVER forget our Annie....and sometimes we have to be super careful not to compare her with Annie.  They are just two completely different breeds with personalities all their own.

One of our first adventures with her happened on December 9th 2021, when she grabbed one of my footie socks off the floor, just as I had removed them and by the time I was able to catch up to her, she had swallowed it!!  I couldn't believe that she had swallowed it, so we searched the entire hallway and living room where she was running from me...but it wasn't to be found.  So, rather than take a chance, we called numerous Vets, locally, but they were all closing, our only other option was to go to an emergency clinic over in PORTLAND at NIGHT.  I DO NOT like driving in Portland to begin with and night time, even more so.

Long story short, thankfully, we were able to locate the place with a little help from the receptionist on the phone....and, after about 5 hours and two tries of getting her to vomit...the sock came up.  Thankfully, they didn't have to do anything major to get it out.  We were back home around midnight.

So now, we watch her like a hawk.  Evidently, Border Collies are 'chewers' too....so we have also gone through two harnesses....as she chews the straps off them.  Good thing she is cute and is so loving!!

We keep saying, this too shall pass. But, a Border Collie Facebook group I am on says that some do get over it and some never do.  Thanks for the encouragement, guys...lol

Anyway, I just wanted to start blogging again but I would rather it be about life in general and also sharing my cards and projects...here and there just for the FUN of sharing.  :-)

I enjoyed going back in time and re reading a lot of my earlier posts....it brought back so many memories.

If you got this far, thanks for reading....and hopefully having more to talk about other than SU will have me posting more....if only to capture memories, for myself, that I can look back on.

Good Afternoon,

It's been quite some time since I have posted on my blog.  I won't even begin to give excuses.  But, hopefully, now that my life seems to have settled down a bit....I can post more often.

I wanted to take a few minutes and ask if you have ever subscribed to Paper Pumpkin.  I have been a subscriber from the get go with only opting out once.  I signed back up and haven't quit since. 

One of the main reasons I subscribed, is that I enjoy doing them with my Special Needs Granddaughter.   She looks forward to them coming each and every month as she knows that when she comes to visit, Grandma and she will sit down and make up cards to send out.  She loves to send cards.

So, even if you don't think you would enjoy them, yourself, think about that special someone in your life that may not want to go bananas with stamping like some of us but just wants 'something' to do each month.  Something to look forward to.

It is so much fun to receive something, in the mail, monthly, each and every month.  

It's also a great way to set aside some time to stamp and everything is already thought out for you!

AND, the stamps are those that no one else can order unless they purchase Paper Pumpkin.

Also, I have some ideas for the upcoming months and hope to start blogging again on a regular basis.

 Happy Day before EASTER!!!!  

Just wanted to pop on to share a few cards that I made using the Butterfly Wishes Bundle.  I also used the DSP that you could purchase for awhile but sad to say it's not being carried over to the new catalog AND it sold out early :-(

I am on week 9 after my open heart surgery.  What a way to start out a new year, right?  So, suffice it to say, I didn't get any stamping done for a couple of months.  BUT, those restrictions are behind me, now, and I am slowly trying to catch up.

I will be starting cardio therapy this month, 3 times a week, and I think it lasts 6 weeks so I will be a busy girl.  But, I plan to stamp and share a LOT more than I have been in the past.

I am super excited about the new catalog coming out next month!!  I have already placed my pre order with SU and can't WAIT to get my order so I can begin sharing ideas.  I didn't go crazy, this time...not with a hospital bill looming over us...but I was able to order a few things.

But, I wanted to share a set that WILL be carried over to the new catalog.  I used the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set.  

If you haven't ordered this, I would highly recommend that you do.  I will be making some more cards using this set, without the DSP though, as we found out that it's no longer available.  :-(
