Masculine Birthday Card and new Promotion

October 28th, 1966 was the day our eldest Son was born.  50 years ago!!!  Where does the time go and I don't know how that can be humanly possible as I am not much older than that, myself!!  But, the hard facts are.....I AM!

I made this card for our Son's birthday.  He surprised us by driving the 3 hours to our house and spending the night and a portion of the next day.  SO enjoyed our visit!!!

This card is basically pretty simple to do but really looks unique.  I just used the Gorgeous Grunge 'splat' stamp and stamped on the Woodland embossing folder with Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze.   Then, I ran it through the Big Shot.  I chose the Elk stamp set from The Wilderness Awaits and just left it au natural....didn't even color it.

Have a great day!!!

Birthday Card

This is the card that I made for our Son for his birthday.

If I haven't mentioned it before, I just LOVE the Woodland Embossing Folder. It is so versatile and can be used pretty much all year long for different occasions. I am hoping to create a card for every occasion and season to share along the way.

For this card, I laid the folder open and on the inside of the folder where it says Sizzix, I stamped the Elk with Early Expresso onto the embossing folder and then I placed my card stock inside and closed it carefully and then ran it through the Big Shot.

After I removed the card stock, I lightly brayered over the trees with Crumb Cake just enough to give it a little color.

I added some ribbon and attached the layer to a piece of Night of Navy card stock and then onto the card base.

The color in between the trees was my attempt to make it look like a dark night....need to work on that ;-)

Here are the supplies I used:

Table built using Product Table Builder by The Crafty Owl - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.

Hope you have a great day!!  If you have any questions about this technique, I'll be happy to try and answer them.

Black and White Masculine card

Fast and easy!!!

We used black card stock and black embossed designer paper as the base of this card.

Then, we adhered a 2"x5" strip of gray cardstock to the left side and taped on alternating squares of black and white cardstock.

As you can see, I am not too good at lining up my squares.  But, you get the idea, anyway.

This is a good use of left over card stock....with pieces that might generally be too small to use.
Then, we used the Decorative Label punch and punched one in gray and one in black.  We cut the gray one in half width wise....and attached the black to the front of the two pieces of the gray.  We glued on a white oval with the sentiment, "Spoil Yourself today".

We then added a cute 'screw' brad to that.

Try this idea using all different combinations of colors.  I thought this card looked like it would be good for a masculine card but you could change it up just by changing the colors.

Have a great day!!!

dad card

Love this card that we made at stamp club.  Using the "Tool Shed" background stamp from SU, we stamped it in brown ink onto cream card stock.  Then, we attached it to brown card stock and added a strip of brown card stock that had been embossed with 'Stripes" embossing folder.

We added three brads to the right hand side and attached the letters d a d that were already cut out for us, using some sort of 'chipboard'?  I saw the 'on Board Alphabet Soup" chipboard letters but these don't seem to be what we used.  Although, they are discontinued, I am sure you could find something similar at your craft store OR if you have an alphabet die set, you could try using that.

Very quick card to put together and I could visualize different backgrounds and letters to come up with all kinds of holidays and occasions.
Give it a try!!

Masculine Card

Another masculine card, today.  Sometimes, they are so hard to come up with.
This was truly simple!!  We layered a strip of beige card stock, which had been scored to look like tile,  onto the brown card and then added two pieces of designer paper punched with the Modern Label punch and cut in half to the top and bottom.  We also lightly stamped onto the tiled card stock but I don't remember the stamp we used.

We added three brads to the bottom left of the tile card stock.

We stamped a time piece onto a square piece of beige card stock, diagonally, and then layered that onto a punched square out of brown card stock.

Clean and simple!!

Come back and visit tomorrow and I always look forward to comments!!!

Masculine Card

Well, I have no clue why all my 'scheduled posts' are not going out when they are supposed to, but I guess I'll have to try and remember to come into blogger and send them out :-)

Here is a cute and simple masculine card.  Of course, just change up the papers and it could be used for a feminine card or child's card as well. It was to have had Happy Birthday on it, but I decided to use a Thank You sentiment.   Always has to be 'one' in the crowd, huh?

It was easy and fast!!!  Love that!!

And, Joanne showed us how to make the ribbon look on the end of the designer paper using a square punch!  I love learning new tricks!!

I have to say that I really enjoy these card classes because Joanne has everything already cut out, punched out and all the supplies you need already to add to your project.  All we have to do is just put it together!!  We might stamp something, too, depends on what it is.  It sure makes class go faster and we get 10 ideas all in one afternoon!!

Check back tomorrow, I'll have another card to share!!
Have a fantastic day!!!

Autumn Cards

Since it's the day before Thanksgiving, I figured I could post a couple more Fall type cards.  These definitely will not go out this year ;-)

Here are two Autumn cards we made in class on the 19th.

This is another stamp set that I couldn't find in the catalog....but who knows...maybe I am not looking close enough or it's in a mini catalog or something.  Anyway, it's a cute pumpkin scene.
This could have been a Happy Thanksgiving/Fall card but I chose to use it for a masculine birthday card.  I am sure you could use any small leaf punch for this project.

The next few days, I will be sharing some more Christmas cards.
