More Christmas card shares

Happy Christmas Eve

These are two more cards that I received this year.
Don't you just love the silver and white?  What an interesting card and one I hope to stamp lift soon!! This one was from Kris.

Here is the card I received from Lynette.  Another version of a blue and white card.  That seems to be an ongoing theme this year and I LOVE it!!  I really like traditional cards but I am loving the non traditional colors....these colors just say CALM to me.

This is the last of my shares, although I will be having more cards to share....but tomorrow is Christmas so we'll move on to other card ideas.

Enjoy this evening anticipating tomorrow.....or tonight for some :-)

Cards from Friends

This card was from my friend, Vicky.  I also have that Embossing Folder and love it.
This adorable bird/ornament card is from Joyce.  I love the glittery ornament.
I have noticed that I have gotten quite a few cards that are using the embossing folders.  I LOVE them!!  Can't have enough of them :-)

I'll share some more, tomorrow!!  Today is our Anniversary, I am hoping we get to go do something fun!!
Have a great day,

Christmas Cards from friends

I've received some really nice cards and I wanted to share some of them with you.
Isn't he cute????  This was from my friend, Sue.

This was a card swap that I am in on my list, Stampers_Life on Yahoo.  Isn't it pretty?  I so seldom emboss on metallic card stock so this was a real treat for me!!

I'll share some others, tomorrow!

Have a great day!!!

Reindeer Card

Here is a card I came up while playing in my stamp room.  It was so easy and fast but I liked how it turned out.

I layered a piece of white embossed card stock on a white card.  Then, I added a red piece of card stock that had a white satin ribbon on the left side.  I stamped a reindeer in brown on a piece of white card stock and adhered it to the right of the ribbon.

I added a little bit of Stickles to the wreath around the Reindeer and then added a white Poinsettia stick on to the middle of the ribbon.

I want to sit and make a bunch of these using all kinds of images, but all my cards have been made and sent so I'll wait till next year unless I come up with even more ideas.  BUT this same card could be used for ANY season or occasion using different images, ribbon and stick ons.

Have a great day!!

Snowmen Tea Lights

We did these at class, too.  But, I have seen them on several blogs so I want to share what blogs I have seen them on so that it gives credit where credit is due.

I have three SU demonstrators that are all friends.  I try to support each of them at one time or another.

I am sure I know a lot more than that via the internet and other friends, but these three are the ones that always give me wonderful ideas via their blogs or in person.

So, here is the blog for my friend, Jan.  If you click on her name, she has the directions for these adorable little pins. She always has fun ideas!  I have been to a couple of her workshops, too, and they are fun and informative.

I tend to go to Joanne's card classes more often because she lives so much closer, just two miles away.  She also has wonderful ideas.

Then, there is Jo (see a pattern here....three J's) and she lives the farthest away up in northern WA.  She used to live about 45 miles from me and I would go to her classes every couple of months or so. We get together, now, about once a year and she does great cards, too.  The last time she visited, though, I took her to Joanne's card class with me.  We had a great time.

If you don't get time to make these, this year, there is always next year.

Enjoy!!

Snowflake card

This was another of my favorite cards we did at class.  I love snowmen/snow flakes so I guess that's the reason.  Besides, I have seen a lot of blue and white Christmas cards this year and I really like the combination.

It's so easy to do, I am sure you can figure it out just by looking at it.  I love the SU Flurry Bigz Die.

Our demonstrator told us she got the snowflake brads at Michael's.

Have a great day!!

Paper Bag snowman card

This card was made using a paper bag as the base.
You cut the bottom of the paper bag at angels to form a closure and add a piece of card stock to keep it closed.  Then, you measure the inside (as not all lunch bags are the same size) and add your white card stock to fit the inside.  Stamp snowflakes all over the card stock and then add a couple of die cut snowflakes and your sentiment.

On the front side of your folded lunch bag, just decorate it with blue card stock layered with white card stock on which you have stamped snowflakes and added a cute snowman.  You can put a strip of blue card stock down the center and staple it at the top and bottom so that when you close your 'bag' you can slide the flap to the inside of your strip.  If that makes sense.

Oh, and we added a little insert to the inside of the bag...using blue card stock layered with a piece of white card stock so that you can add a note or whatever.

Enjoy!!

Char

Ornament Card

This was probably one of my favorite cards we made at card class. We folded the card in thirds....We added DSP to the insides of the right and left flaps.  Then we folded the top of the flaps to the outsides.
We adhered a three snowflakes together and then added them to white card stock using a piece of Velcro.  Then, we stamped our sentiment and adhered that to a piece of green card stock and layered it onto the middle of the card.
Closing the card, we made a band of green card stock and slipped that over the closed card.  We adhered a small piece of red striped ribbon to the band and then our little sentiment on a label.

As you can probably tell, we punched a little hole into one of the snowflakes at the tip and added some baker's twine.

When your recipient receives their card, they can remove the snowflake ornament and add it to their tree!

Have fun with this one!!

Hugs,
Char

Twisted Christmas Card

We made these at Card class.....so much fun!!  But, rather than ME trying to explain it and confuse you even more, here is a video I found online that will show you how to do it.

Then it's just about decorating your twisted card.  You can add little gift cards or notes to the inside pocket.

It really is fun and easy to do....and can be used with so many different designer papers and stamps/dies.

Hope you give it a try if you haven't already!!

Have a great day!!!!

Snowman Carde

Using any snowman you might have, you can make this card.

We stamped the snowman in the center of white card stock, colored him in with markers and then added the little squares of blue card stock to the left and right sides that had been stamped with little snowflakes

Then, we adhered the white card stock to a blue card.

Easy Peasey!!!

Shadow Tree card

Ok, I have to admit that I am not sure this is what it's called but you get the 'picture' anyway.

Using a piece of card stock or piece of paper that has a circle punched out of it, lay it over your card stock and sponge some green ink.....then ink your tree stamp and stamp it off....then stamp into the center of the circle.

Next, re ink your tree and stamp so that the top of the tree goes into the circle.

Tear the bottom of your card stock towards you to give it a feathered look.

Stamp your sentiment to the left of your tree with red ink.

Wrap a length of ribbon around your card stock and then add a little bow to the side.  Adhere that to your red layer of card stock and then adhere that to a green card.

Easy!!!  You could also had Stickles or little rhinestones to the tree as an added touch.

Hugs,
Char

Scrap Christmas Card

Have a lot of scraps left over?  You can create this cute card by just layering different sized scraps onto a piece of card stock that has been embossed in a haphazard pattern.

Before layering it onto your card, wrap a ribbon around the center of the scraps and add your sentiment.

Fun, easy and you use up all those little pieces that you might otherwise toss.

This card could be done for any occasion.

Have a fun day!!

Hat and Mittens Card

Another card we made at card class.  Using the  Mitten Builder Punch to make the mittens and using an oval punch to make the hat (cut in half).  Little scraps to make the brim of the hat and the cuffs of the mittens.

We adhered them onto green card stock and added a Seasons Greetings (not sure where this comes from).  We added a piece of red and white striped Baker's Twine.  Then, we adhered it to embossed white card stock and layered it on a red card.

I could also see this as a winter card using a different   sentiment.

Have a great day!!

Apron Christmas Card

Isn't this too cute??  We made this card at our December card class.

It was so much fun to put together and I could see sending this along with a plate of cookies to a neighbor or a friend's house.

It would also be a fun card to send to those bakers in your life.  They would get a huge kick out of it.

Basically, you cut the pattern of an apron on a red folded card and then add the DSP paper that has been cut just a little smaller.

Then you add a strip of red card stock across the bottom, leaving the top edge open.  Layer a piece of embossed white card stock on top and then add your cute images that have been die cut.

You might even put in a REAL candy cane...hmmm, I'll have to try that.

Snowflake Christmas Blessings

This was my favorite card we made, last month.

Using Marina Mist card stock, we made a card.  We added a piece of white card stock that we had embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and then added a piece of coordinating designer paper.

Then, we threaded a white organza ribbon through a ribbon slide and attached it to the left side of a 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Marina Mist card stock.  Add a piece of 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 white card stock to the right side of the Marina Mist card stock and adhere two snowflakes cut from the two smallest Snow Flurry Bigz Dies to the center.

Stamp your sentiment!

Have a great day!!!

Mitten Thank You Card

A mitten card can be used all winter!!  You can change up the colors so that it's not Christmasy.

This card used the "Make a Mitten" stamp set from SU and the Mitten Builder Punch from SU.

I think it's pretty self explanatory.  We also used the smaller Scallop Squares Duo Bigz but you could use a small square scallop punch.
Add a scalloped trim to the front with a strip of designer paper adhered to the top and a little piece of sweater trim.

Enjoy your day!!

Bigz Snowflake card

Now THIS is a quick card.

Fold your blue card stock and then using a white pigment stamp pad, stamp different sized snowflakes all over your card.

Stamp a Winter sentiment.  You can just stamp ON the card or stamp it on blue with a white background, behind.

Then, cut two snowflakes, from the Snow Flurry Bigz Die from SU, one cut from white card stock and the other cut from glitter paper.

Have a happy day!!

Red Ornament Card

Yet another ornament card.  This one is pretty simple, as you can see.

On a dark red card  (sorry, I keep telling myself I will write down the name but get so busy yakking and making my cards, I forget), add a layer of white card stock that has been embossed with the "Holiday Frame" Textured Impression Embossing Folder from SU.  Before adhering it to the card, be sure to add your ribbon.

Then, stamp and cut the ornaments (3) using the Ornament Keepsakes Bundle.  Fold all three ornaments in the middle and glue together.  Add them to the middle of the ribbon and then add a bow at the top.

Add a sentiment to a white oval and adhere that to a scalloped oval in red.
You can even add a few jewels or rhinestones to the top ornament to make it more blingy!

Have fun making Christmas cards!!!

Christmas Tree card

I love the Scentsational Season stamp set and framelits dies.

I had fun at class making this card and really, you could probably use any of the dies in the set to create this card.

We adhered two different pieces of designer paper to a very vanilla card.   Before adhering, we added a piece of green stitched ribbon down the length of the card.

Then, we added a Apothecary accents Framelit die with two gold brads to the ribbon.

Added a red oval piece of card stock on top of the Framelit die and then the stamped and cut tree on top of that.

Add a sentiment using one of the dies or just a piece of rectangle card stock.

Got to make some more of these!!

Have a fun day!!

Gingerbread Man Christmas Card

Who doesn't like cute little Gingerbread people?
We made this card in our October card class.

We adhered a piece of designer paper that had the corners punched, to a red card.

Then, we layered a strip of red and white designer paper to the middle of the card.

We threaded a piece of green stitched ribbon through a ribbon slide and attached it to the card.

Then we stamped and cut out the Gingerbread man using the Scentsational Season stamp set from SU and the Holiday Collection Framelits set.

Just add a sentiment and done!!

Have a great day!!

Scalloped Circle card

This was another fun and easy card.  Using SU Scallop Circle Bigz die, we cut on the fold to make a scalloped card.

We added a white circle to the inside of the card and stamped a tree in blue.

We then added a piece of transparency film to the inside of the circle and stamped Christmas Blessings on it.   Be sure to test the ink first before using it on your card, to make sure it is permanent.

Then, add a start and a snowflake punched out of glitter paper.

Have a great day!!!

Ornament Card

I love these ornaments!!

We used a brown card base and adhered a white layer embossed with SU Northern Flurry Folder embossing folder to the card.

Then we stamped Ornament Keepsakes from SU onto blue card stock and cut them with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits dies.

We attached them to the card with dimensionals and added some blue and white Baker's Twine.

Added a sentiment....and done!!

Poinsettia Merry Christmas

Another fun and easy Christmas card.  We embossed green card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder from SU.  Then, we took a piece of Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock and scalloped the edges and then using a sanding block, sanded the card stock.

We then, used a 2 1/2" circle punch and punched out the middle.  We centered a piece of white card stock behind the punched hole and stamped a sentiment.

Then, we added "Merry Christmas" stamped on a piece of card stock that had the ends cut to resemble a pennant and attached that under the circle.  We added a Poinsettia that was stamped and cut out.  Then, added some crystal effects to the center.  Create a little loose bow from organza ribbon and insert it under the Poinsettia.

Have a great day!!!

Fast card to make.  We made this a couple of months ago at card class.  Not my favorite colors but it made me do something outside my comfort zone.

I think the photo is pretty self explanatory :-)

Merry Christmas Pine Bough

Another FUN card to make.  Starting with a piece of green card stock 11" x4 1/4",  fold in half lengthwise.  Then, score the front section at 1 1/2".  Fold over and tear the edge towards you to give it a 'feathered' look.   Unfold again.  Then, center your Framelit on the front of the bottom section and cut out.

Using a 5" x 3 1/2" piece of light card stock, adhere it to a piece of 5 1/4" x 3 3/4" brown card stock.  Center it in the bottom half of the card under the opening....and mark with a light pencil...the edge where you will be stamping.

Take the card back out and stamp the boughs and pinecones.

Put a very thin line of adhesive on each side of the inside of the bottom flap.  Adhere it to the back.  Add a piece of brown stitched ribbon to the top of the bottom half.

Then, stamp Merry Christmas at the top of the inside card.

Hope the directions make sense.  I can see using this idea for different occasions.

Happy Birthday horse card

This is pretty self explanatory card and I am sure you can recreate something like this just by looking at it.

This card, I think, could be used for either a male or female for their birthday and you can even change up the colors of card stock and designer paper.

Tuxedo Card

Let's see, a wedding, prom, special occasion....this card can be used for quite a few events.

It is relatively easy and quick to put together after you get your elements punched/cut.

Gray, black and white but you can change up the colors to fit the occasion.

Fall Happy Birthday

In October, we made this cute Fall card using the SU stamp set Wonderfall and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die.

Adding a little ribbon and a sentiment.......and you're good to go.

I love Fall......and I have a few more cards to share and then it's mostly Christmas after that.

Cute Scarecrow

We made this card back in October at card class.  It was so much fun to make.

Using the Top Note die, you create the scarecrows head.  Then, using the Top Note die, again, you create her hat and brim from designer paper.

Using a small oval punch, you cut it in half for the eyes, black circles for the pupils, and a triangular shape for the nose.

I had fun recreating this card for several people.  You can change it up and make the scarecrow a 'he' and give him/her different accents.

Hope you have fun doing this cute card!!

Birthday Wishes

Using the Natural Composition Specialty paper from SU, we did a Dutch fold card.  We added Crumb Cake taffeta Ribbon to each side of the card, tying a little bow on the right side.

Then we used the Delicate Doilies die cut out of Very Vanilla card stock, 2 3/8" scalloped circle punch and the 1 3/4" circle punch to make the center design.

Very quick and easy card, yet so elegant.
I love this Specialty paper.  The inside is just plain, so you can stamp on it.

Friendship card

This card uses the  coffee cup and steam stamps from the Scentsational Season set and Framelit Dies (Holiday Collection) from SU.

We used Marina Mist card stock for the base card.  We created a background on the card by stamping the steam stamp all over.

Then, we used a strip of designer paper and  punched a circle using the 2 1/2" circle punch out of Cherry Cobbler card stock and a scalloped circle punched out of the same designer paper.
We added the Cherry Cobbler sweater trim.

Quick card to send to a friend to tell them to share a 'cup of coffee' with you.

Rock n Roll Fall Card

This was one of the cards we made this month at card class.

The technique is called Rock N Roll.  To get this effect, first ink up your stamp with the lighter color and then, very carefully, just roll the edges of your stamp in the darker ink and stamp onto glossy card stock.

We used the Gently Falling stamp set from SU.

So I wanted to say HAPPY THANKSGIVING with this card!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful day full of thanks!!!

White on White card

This card has so many elements on it, I'll probably leave something out but here goes.

We used a Whisper White card and adhered two layers of card stock that had been embossed with different embossing folders.  Then we adhered a piece of Organza ribbon to a 1 x 5" strip of Whisper White and before attaching that to the embossed layers, we added a strip of whisper white that had been punched using a scalloped border punch.

After those were adhered to the card, we attached three 'flower' punches (the top one being punched out of glossy card stock) to the card with dimensionals. We added a little pearl to the center and sizzlet leaves punched out of glossy card stock.  Then, a small embossed butterfly was added.

I'll be playing more with this idea in the future!!

Have a fantastic day!!

Triple Stamping Card

This was an easy and fun card!!  I shared one earlier and called it double stamping but it's actually triple time stamping.  You can Google Triple time stamping and get a lot of ideas or you can go here.  I think she does a good job of showing how the technique is done.

Anyway, we used the SU stamp set, Fabulous Florets.  I am not sure of the colors of card stock that we used but it was a pink, an orange and a green.  LOVED the color combos for this card!!!  The stamps were stamped with the same colors.  Then we topped it off with a polka dot ribbon!!

FUN FUN FUN!!!  If you haven't tried Triple time stamping, you have to give it a try!!

Have a fabulous day!!

Designer Strip card

This could be used for a Halloween card, a Fall card or just an every day card.

We cut strips from designer paper and then layered them onto an orange card.

We used  one of the Labels Collection Framelits.  We cut one from black and the other one from vanilla card stock.

We cut the black one in half and adhered the vanilla on top of it.  We then stamped a verse (I didn't as I wanted to leave it blank to use later).  Then we stamped a sentiment onto a tag, attached that to a spiral metal clip and tied a black piece of ribbon onto that and attached that to the card.

Interesting effect.

Have a great day!!

Heart Punch out card

Using the Perfect Polka Dots Folder, the white card stock was embossed for us.  Then, we used a heart punch and punched out a heart at the bottom right of the embossed card stock.

We then layered ribbon to the inside of the embossed card stock and attached that to the front of our Sahara Sand card.

We punched two Modern label punches, one from Sahara Sand and the other from white.  We cut the Sahara sand in half and then layered the white on top of that.   We stamped our sentiment and added a coordinating piece of ribbon tied in a knot to the label.

Have a great day!!

Pear Card

How about a cute card for someone that does a lot of canning?? Or just a canning season card?

We attached four pieces of 1 7/8" x 2 1/2" SU Orchard Harvest DSP to a green card.

Then we attached a piece of brown ribbon around a piece of 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" piece of coordinating card stock and adhered that to the top of the card.

We then stamped a canning jar and lid and cut it out and adhered that to the top of the coordinating card stock and then stamped the pear and stem and attached that to the jar. This set is called "Perfectly Preserved" and is in the SU holiday catalog.

Then, we stamped the 'just for you' sentiment to a Bitty Banner Framelit die and attached that to the jar.

We finished the card off by adding three gold brads.

Have a Fantastic Day!!

Masculine Happy Birthday

A fun Happy Birthday card for a man.  Actually, it could be used for anyone if you changed it up a bit.

We layered a piece of 4x5 1/2" designer paper onto a card.  Then, we notched a piece of 5 x 2 card stock that had been embossed to look like bark.  We adhered that on top of the designer paper.  Then, we threaded two punched out stars to a piece of 1/4" blue grosgrain ribbon and attached that to the front of the card, tucking the ends behind the designer paper.

Next, we stamped the sentiment onto an Apothecary Accents Framelit die, sponged the edges and attached it to the card with silver brads.

Have a great day!!

A Note of Thanks Card

Here is another Fall card.  I couldn't find the designer papers in the catalog so will have to assume they are retired but you can use almost any papers to create the look you want to achieve.

Our demonstrator embossed the leaf with an embossing folder which we then sanded to bring out the tan color.

We attached the 1x1.5" pieces of designer paper to the 2x2" pieces of brown card stock and then adhered them to a 5.5 x 2 1/4" piece of vanilla card stock.  Then, we adhered that to the card.
Then, we wrapped some ribbon around the leaf and attached it to the card with glue dots.  A small 1/2 x 2 1/4" piece of vanilla card stock was notched on the ends and then we stamped the sentiment.

I could see a number of ways to use this idea!

Have a great day!!

Peek a Boo flower

What a fun card!!!  Well, till I got to the folding of the flower in the middle :-)  I guess you have to practice a little.

Basically, you stamp a background stamp on the left side of your card, punch out a circle and then take 6 smaller circles and fold them up so that they lay inside the cut out circle and form a flower.

We then put a little pearl in the center and stamped a Birthday sentiment to the right side of the card and tied some green organza ribbon to the card.

I like the card idea, just couldn't get the petals to fit together perfectly.  Like I said, Practice, practice, practice!

Have a great day,

Gatefold Card

 Happy Tuesday,
This is the Gate fold card that we made at stamp class last month.

Love the colors that were used, but once again, too busy actually making the cards to ask what they were, duh!!  It could be Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.

She used the Adorning Accents Folder and embossed on the sides of the card (already done ahead for us) and then scored it so all we had to do was fold and put together.  She also had the Fun Flowers Bigz L die all cut out for us, too.  We are spoiled!!!!

See the little Dahlia in the center?  When I saw them in the catalog, I thought they were larger so was happy to see that they make a cute center for a flower.

Fun card!!!  Here is where you can go to see how to make a Gate fold card.

Have a great day!!

Fall Tri-Fold Card

We made a Tri-fold card at class, last month.  It really speaks FALL, I think.   It was fun to do and fairly easy.

This is what it looks like when it is folded and ready to send.
and this is what it looks like when you unfold it!

I didn't get the instructions but you can go here and get a ton of ideas to try.  I think I am going to have to play with this card fold and see what else I can come up with.

Have a great day!!!

Ornament Challenge

This is my last post of projects from my weekend in Salem, mid September.

I found these flat round ornaments at Craft Warehouse, in Salem and they were on sale.  So, I bought enough for each person at WAG to have to create an ornament.

I just did it very simple, like the display one at the store.  They had crimped designer paper and then cut it into strips.  Then, just folded it back and forth to make it squiggly and then inserted it into the ornament.   I tried to get it to be hodgepodge but they all wanted to just stay up and down.

Some gals got theirs to be going all different directions, but guess I am not as skillful as they are :-)

I bought a couple more boxes of these ornaments, so I am going to play in the next few weeks and see what I can come up with.

I am sure you can think of all kinds of ideas for these.  They also had really cool square ones and they had those decorated as scarecrows, Frankenstein and snowmen.

If you live near a Craft Warehouse, go check them out!!

Have a FUN day!!!
