Oooh those Framelits!!!!

 Oh gosh, I absolutely love the Thinlit dies that Stampin' UP has come out with.  I can't seem to quit making cards with them.

This is one of the cards that we made at my Open House on Thursday, October 17th.

Doesn't it just speak Christmas with the red, green and silver???

And, how easy to put together!!

Learning how to put the designer paper on just right so that you can run the entire card through the Big Shot took a little practice, but after that, I was popping those babies out like crazy!!

I hadn't ordered the Christmas Collectibles Bundle, yet, so I used the ones that I already had that are a carry over from the catalog.  They are not retired.  They are just not in the main catalog.  But, because they are easier to find, I will list the Christmas Collectibles Bundle.

Stampin Up Open House

SU Annual Catalog

Today is the day for my Stampin UP Open House!!!!  Whoooohooooo!!!!  I am so excited!!

We will be making a couple of Christmas cards using the Label Card Thinlits and also the Festive Flurries Framelits Bundle.

Wedding Card

When we made this card, it was to be a birthday card....but I had a wedding coming up,  so I changed it up and just added a wedding sentiment from Petite Pairs.

I think this card could be used for most anything because of the subtle colors.

We used the Framed Tulips embossing folder on Smoky Slate card stock and the Pansy punch to make the flower and the leaves are from the Bird Builder punch.

We used the Decorative Label Punch for the two labels behind the flower.  To create that look, just punch out the first label from Smoky Slate Card Stock and then cut it in half...side to side.....and then add your other label punched from White Card stock on top of that.

The ribbon is the Chevron ribbon, Smoky Slate.

The Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder was used on the Whisper White Cardstock.

I am going to have fun re creating this card using different colors!!

I am busy working on two cards that we'll be making at my Open House on Thursday!!  Both are Christmas cards.  Yeah, I know it's a tad early but it's really never too early to get a head start on making them.  If you are like me, you wait till the first of December and then rush to get them all done and in the mail.  I am trying hard to do it differently this year!

Starting Christmas cards

We started making Christmas cards in class in September and I'll be making and sharing more this month and in November.  Great way to get ahead of the game!!!

In fact, in two days, I'll be having my Open House and we'll be creating a couple of holiday cards, that day.

If you want to come, send me an e-mail message or if you cannot make it because you are too far, you can place an online order for just $35 from my online demonstrator site, I will send you the 'ingredients' to make the two cards that we will be making at my Open House.

This card was super simple to make.  We used the Northern Flurry embossing folder and then we used a retired snowflake punch to punch out a snowflake in the center.  We added a piece of designer paper behind it and then layered it to the blue card stock.

Then, we just added Warm Winter Wishes to the bottom....and it was done!!!  The Warm Winter Wishes is not in the catalog so if you do not already have that stamp set, you could use another one and here is my suggestion, Joy to the World.

Quick and easy card....and you could change up the colors and make them different.

Happy Fall y'all and Happy Thanksiving day to Canada!!!

Here is yet another Fall card.  This time we used Autumn Accents Bigz die to make this card.

We used the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper.

Adding a piece of card stock to the left side of the leaves with the ends cut to form a notch....and then attaching ribbon to that....just sets it off, I think.

I love using the Modern label punch and cutting the back one in half.....to form an outline for the top label.
The Happy Fall Y'all was printed from a computer.  I have done that many a time when I wanted something special and didn't have a stamp that said exactly what I needed to says

Fall....my favorite time of year

The Thinlits dies are so much fun to work with.  I made this card at a class but we didn't use the Thinlits...it was already done for us....which is OK....I have my Thinlits ordered and cannot WAIT to play with them.

In fact, I will be using the Thinlits die to make a couple of holiday cards at my Open House next week.  :-)

We just added the new Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper to the right and left sides of the card and on the flip part.....and the little thx part from the die.....and added a little burlap bow....and poof......done!!!

Gotta love fast simple cards....especially when everything is already punched and cut out for you :-)

My Demonstrator Kit!!!

I joined Stampin UP on Monday, October 7th, and my kit arrived on Wednesday, October 9th.  WOW!!! That was FAST!!!!

It contained 8 catalogs, a package of order forms, post cards, a stamp set and ink pad that I chose and a training DVD.

So, now I am all set to have my first Open House on Thursday, October 18th.

We could choose $26.95 in product from the catalog.  So, I chose a stamp set and an ink pad.

The stamp set that I chose was Christmas Messages.

I chose Pumpkin Pie for my ink pad as I plan to make some Fall cards and needed orange.  And, doesn't Pumpkin Pie just sound 'yummy'??

                       It's always a fun day when the UPS guy comes to the door!!!

Happy birthday

Very simple and easy Birthday card to put together!!!

We just layered two different designer papers from Birthday Basics and a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock that had been run through the Big Shot with the Stylish Stripes embossing folder.

Added ribbon and a bow.....and a little scallop......with a sentiment on the inside.....and Voila`.....done!!!

I just did sign up with Stampin Up, as a demonstrator, and am going to continue sharing what I made in classes I have taken till I get my first order and can start making some cards, of my own, to share with you.  :-)

I am SO excited to be able to share my new adventure with you all!!!  Please be patient with me as I learn how to do even more things on this blog!!!  It's a real learning experience but SO MUCH FUN!!!!

Halloween cards

We did this adorable mummy card at class in September.  It is just torn strips of card stock layered and sponged with brown ink.  We put a little square of black card stock behind with two googly eyes to peek through.

Fun, easy card......

Here is one I did a few years ago....pretty similar.

This was done by putting the eyes on first and then layering the strips of card stock over the card.

And, yet another fun Halloween project to do is to use gauze and cover a Hershey bar.....and add eyes and a little note card.

I have taken the plunge!!!

Yes, I did.  I did it, this morning and I am so excited and wanted to share my excitement with you.

Swaps

 I joined a few swaps on my list and another that I belong to....and although I LOVE doing swaps.....I got a tad behind with all that we had going on in September.

But, here are four cards that I received in the mail.

The first one is from Jane and it was for an Autumn swap.

The second one is from Cynthia and it is for an alphabet swap....the letter G.

This card was sent by Jo and it is the letter A in another alphabet swap.

This final card was also from Jo, she had my name in two swaps.  It is for an Animal Swap.

Love all the swap cards that I get!!!  It's always fun to see someone else's interpretation.
