Let the Fall decorating begin!!

Yes, Fall has finally arrived!!!  It's been a long drawn out summer....actually starting in February.  Not really, but the clear blue skies and warm weather started in February and we are just now starting to get down into the 60's and 50's.   Yesterday, was in the 70's so it's still not our typical Fall.  But, who's complaining?

I decided to get some fall decorating done.  I don't do an overabundance of decorating but one thing I did do, this year, was to make myself a framed printable that I found online.

I went to Pinterest and just typed in "fall printables" and came up with a boatload of them.  I chose my printable and printed it off onto Very Vanilla card stock and put it into a frame that I happened to have out in the garage.  I decided that I might like it better if I had a larger frame and had a piece of coordinated card stock as a mat behind the printable.

So, yesterday, I went to the Goodwill in the next town and I found several frames that might work.  :-)  I'll see if I like it better that way.

While I was out, I found some other fall 'buys'.  Every thrift store I went to, had their Halloween/Fall items displayed prominently.  I didn't want to bring home more 'stuff' just because it was on sale.  But, couldn't resist these things.

I got a pair of these wall sconces.  $1 each.  Hmmmmm, I don't even use tapered candles anymore but oh well, they are still cute.

This cute glass Pumpkin cookie jar was $5.  Probably wouldn't have paid that much at a yard sale but the money was going to help shelter animals, and I liked it....so felt it was a good purchase.

A nice big platter for $1.

Can't wait to see what they'll have for Christmas decor!

Have a great day!!!

  1. I love your scene. I'm gonna go look for some too. Your finds were great. Wish I could get the energy to go to our local Goodwill.

  2. Chris, I actually had a lot more leaf strings to decorate with but gave them to my Granddaughter for her apartment. I gave her a bunch of stuff. I just am trying to pare down our decorations. I like keeping it more simple ;-)
