I love the ladies that come to my class. They put up with my shenanigans and silliness and are so patient with me when I forget stuff and have to go back to my stamp room to retrieve it.
That is one of the things that I always get so irritated about, though, is the many times I have to walk back to my stamp room to retrieve something I had forgotten to include in the kits. (Good thing it's held at my house, huh?)
So, I decided to make a game out of it....and hopefully make it fun for them, since they are so patient. I handed them each a slip of paper, had them 'guess' at how many times I would have to make that trip back to my stamp room and then someone kept count. The one closest to the times I made the trip, got a prize.
Now, I look at this in a different way. I see it as getting 'my steps in' on my Fitbit, but it does interrupt things so that's why it irritates me that I do it. But, regardless of how many times that I go over and over and over the contents of the shoeboxes, I invariably forget something!! It is what it is!!
It got to be so silly with some of them asking for things that weren't part of the class....like a different color of ribbon or asking to 'see' something that they knew I didn't have out. LOL Like I said, I love my girls!!! They just got right into the mix of things and made it fun!!
Well, I did good...only made 5 trips this month!!! Two of the gals guessed 5.
But, I decided that since they were all such great sports, they all deserved a prize.
We did 3 cards at class on Thursday. I'll share the other two in upcoming posts.
The one above was one they wanted to learn how to do. And, when they express that they want to learn how to do something, I try my hardest to give them what they want.
This card used the Color Wash technique, using water color paper, reinkers and stippling brushes.
Oooooooh, the different colors the gals came up with were so cool!!! No two were alike.
I wish I had thought to take photos of their creations!!
Thanks for stopping by!!!
Remember that the Stitched Framelits are available this month!!! Can't wait to get my hands on mine!!
Hugs,
Char

UPS COMING, Tuesday Deals and Woodland Impressions Folder coming back!!
Good Morning,
It's a cloudy day here in Central Oregon but it's OK....a good day to stay inside and play while I wait for the UPS truck to arrive sometime between Noon and 4:30pm!!
I wanted to share with you some things that are going on with SU in the upcoming weeks!!
It's a cloudy day here in Central Oregon but it's OK....a good day to stay inside and play while I wait for the UPS truck to arrive sometime between Noon and 4:30pm!!
I wanted to share with you some things that are going on with SU in the upcoming weeks!!
First off, the Woodlands Textured Impressions
folder…..is coming OUT of retirement!!!
YES!!!! I was SOOOOO bummed when
they decided to retire this folder as I still had so many ideas yet to try
using it. It is not available now, as
they did retire it…(believe me, I even tried to put in the item number just to make
absolutely sure) even though the Holiday catalog is still in effect till Jan
4th.
BUT, they just announced to us demonstrators
that it WILL be available in the Annual catalog coming out in June!!! I don’t know about you, but I was really
excited that they listened to us begging them to bring it back. It was a HUGE seller!! They don’t usually bring something back once
it’s been retired!!! YES, YES, YES!!! If you were not able to get that embossing
folder before it retired, now it will be available in the next annual
catalog. You will LOVE it!!
The next thing I want to mention is that
the weekly deals were announced this morning.
In those deals is the Precision Plate. It helps to cut all those really intricate
dies! It normally sells for $25 but it
is on sale for $18.75 this week. They
also have some other fun things on sale.
And, wait, there’s more…. there is going to
be a Year-End Sale December 10, 2015 – January 4 2016. While supplies last, they will be offering
discounts up to 60% on select products so check back on December 10th
to see what they are.
Even us demonstrators don’t
know what they will be!!
Then of course, Sale-A-Bration starts on
January 5th. This years Occasion Catalog is AWESOME!!!!!! I wish I could have pre-ordered EVERYTHING I wanted, but with Christmas coming up, I had to choose wisely!
My catalog is
already ragged looking for going over and over and over all the goodies!!!
My SU pre order shipment arrives today, WHOOOHOOOOO, and
you will start seeing some things I make using the product I was able to
purchase ahead of time.
It will be all here on my blog…so be sure to check it out and if you forget, just sign up to get
reminders sent to your e-mail when I update my blog. That way you don’t miss anything!!
Last but not least, if you watch the TODAY show on NBC, tomorrow (Wednesday Dec 9th) morning (check your local listings), Sara Douglass, SU Interim CEO will be
sharing details of Stampin’ UP!’s $2 million donation to the TODAY Show Toy
Drive sale.
Now, it’s back to keeping busy while I wait for the UPS truck to arrive!!!
Remember, if you place an order and use
the Host Code 7R4GEURD, for this month…..I will send you a Thank
you card with a little something in it.
IF your order qualifies for Host rewards, do not use the Host code.
Also, if you place a qualifying order of
$25 or more, I will send you the Card Buffet for this month via e-mail. If you are not sure what the Card Buffet is, check at the top of my blog and click on the tab that says Card Buffet, it explains it.
Hope you are enjoying this holiday season…. Keep safe and healthy!!
Oh, and if any of the links do not work or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Pawsnstamp@centurylink.net

Birthday Card
If I haven't mentioned it before, I just LOVE the Woodland Embossing Folder. It is so versatile and can be used pretty much all year long for different occasions. I am hoping to create a card for every occasion and season to share along the way.
For this card, I laid the folder open and on the inside of the folder where it says Sizzix, I stamped the Elk with Early Expresso onto the embossing folder and then I placed my card stock inside and closed it carefully and then ran it through the Big Shot.
After I removed the card stock, I lightly brayered over the trees with Crumb Cake just enough to give it a little color.
I added some ribbon and attached the layer to a piece of Night of Navy card stock and then onto the card base.
The color in between the trees was my attempt to make it look like a dark night....need to work on that ;-)
Here are the supplies I used:
Table built using Product Table Builder by The Crafty Owl - Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.
Hope you have a great day!! If you have any questions about this technique, I'll be happy to try and answer them.
Char
