Sealed with Love Valentine's Day card

Here is the card we did for class the first of January.  I was basically trying to teach the technique, which was using packing tape to get the glitter effect on the heart.  But, later, decided it needed some 'pizazz' so I added the extra stamping to the front.

Afterwards, I thought, hmmm, maybe just stamping around the heart and leaving the sentiment free.  That will be my next try :-)

Here are the directions, if you would like to try it.

Stamp Set:  Sealed with Love  #142815
Card stock:  Real Red 8 ½ x 5 ½, scored at 4 ¼.  Whisper White 3 ¾ x 5, scored on all sides at ¼”
Designer Series Paper:  Sending Love, #142733, 3”x3”
Scrap Cardstock: 4x5 ¼, cut out of scrap card stock using heart Framelit, to be used as a template
Ink:  Real Red
Framelits: Sweet and Sassy Framelit Dies #141707 (2nd one in the 3 Framelit set)
Other supplies:
Ribbon:  Real Red stitched satin ribbon #141693, approximately 15”
Silicone Sheet #127853
3” Packing Tape
Dazzling Diamonds glitter #133751
Glue Dots
Directions:
  1. Score Whisper White on all four sides at ¼”
  2. Stamp Sentiment just above bottom score line.
  3. Using template that you created, using the Sassy Heart Framelit, line it up on Whisper White card stock and run it through the Big Shot.
  4. Using a Silicon Sheet, lay white card stock face down.
  5. Lay a strip of 3" packing tape over the opening, sticky side down.
  6. Turn card over and carefully sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds onto the sticky side.
  7. Tape a 3x3" square of Designer Series Paper over the back of the heart opening so the design shows through to the front of the card.
  8. With Real Red ink, stamp image around heart as pictured.
  9. Attach to Real Red card.
  10. Add strip of ribbon from center of top of heart and secure behind.  Add bow to top of heart using a glue dot.

Snow, Snow and more Snow

I have taken countless photos ever since the snow began back in December.

We've had a couple of breaks where the roads full of snow, melted, but there has been snow on the ground ever since the first part of December.  Then this last storm hit and although it has ceased, now after a few days, we have about 3 1/2-4 feet or more of snow left behind.

Yes, I am getting really tired of it!! LOL  It's one thing to be stuck in the house and not go anywhere because you just don't want to and another to be stuck in the house because you CAN'T get out and go anywhere.

But, thankfully, I have new stamps to play with so I have been creating!!  :-)

Another reason I have been lax in posting is that when I post, I want to upload photos but when I try to upload photos, lately, they are always sideways.  I take them with my phone as it's just faster and easier and, when they are saved to my computer they look fine but as soon as I upload them, they are sideways.  So, I am working on why that happens.  It doesn't seem to matter how I take it, landscape, straight on and what I do in the editing....it takes forever to get a photo to end up the right way.

This month, at class, we made three cards and one was a Valentine's Day card.  I shared a new technique, or new to me anyway, of using packing tape and glitter. We used the Sassy Heart Framelits and the new Sending Love Designer Series Paper Stack #142733 and the Sealed with Love set #142815.  The sentiment "Happy Valentine's Day" is just one of 27 stamps in the set and it also has Framelit dies you can purchase as a bundle.

I also had some of the new Occasions and Sale A Bration items on display.

Fun day...

Now it's back to playing with my new stamps!!!

Have a great day and if you are inundated with SNOW, like we are.....take time to stamp and play!!

Hugs,
Char
