Christmas items almost gone!!

Just a FYI.....

Toward the end of a catalog, there is always a risk that products will sell out without enough time to reorder and restock inventory before the catalog sales period ends.

This usually happens when demand is higher than it was forecasted. After a small snafu during an upgrade of Stampin’ Up!’s inventory management system, though, several products are at high risk of early depletion.

If any of the following items are on your wish list for this Holiday Season, I suggest you place an order soon to grab them up before they are gone – and they will be gone quick!

Click on the items below for more information or to shop now.

Hopefully, the links DO work.  I have been having issues with that.....but the item number is there if you need to go to my website and put it in.

MY RV Stamp Room

My Tiny RV Stamp Room

I have been asked countless times to post about how I store my stamping supplies in a 5th wheel.  I have procrastinated only because I hadn't gotten my stamp room set up the way I wanted to because we have been on the road a lot, this past year and most of you, if you know me at all, know I LOVE to have things organized.

Well, we are finally sitting still for awhile, hopefully, and I have been spending my 'off' days getting things organized.  It has been a real eye opener!!  I CAN actually stamp it with minimal supplies and space.

I know, from previous experience, that this organizing isn't going to be 'finished' any time soon as I will keep coming up with better ways to store things or display them in my tiny stamp room.  AND, there is still a LOT of wall space but you have to be careful not to put too much weight on the walls.   You don't want it all on the floor when you arrive at your destination :-)   Ask me how I know!!!

I know that some of you are already thinking, but how do all those stamp pads stay in place and the drawers keep from coming open?  Well, we have large cardboard type 'things' that we put in front of the stamp holder and Sterilite drawers and bungee cord them in place.  Pretty much everything on the desk rides well as I have shelf liners on the top of the desk and it keeps things from shifting.

Well, this is it!!  Below is the view when you open the door. A long, long ways from a 10x12 room that I used to have, with all kinds of shelves and pieces of furniture to store everything....and a garage lined with shelving units to store all the excess..... but it works!!

I finally have it to where I can get to my card stock (I just recently organized those in magazine file holders, an idea I got from Pinterest) and my basic stamping supplies.

Of course, it's too small of an area for me to put a chair in there and actually stamp but, as you can see, the desk area is full anyway.

This little room was supposed to be a spare bathroom but we had it converted into a craft room/office, when it was being built, with a small desk with 3 drawers on the left.  The 'office' part of the room, is the first drawer, where we keep office supplies, postage stamps, etc.  :-)

The second drawer, in the desk, holds my punches and the bottom drawer has some stamp sets,

After a year of organizing, reorganizing (and I am sure there will be countless other times of organizing going on in the future).....I am finally able to locate things and not have to dig around under the belly of the RV or worse yet....just decide NOT to stamp as it was just too much of a hassle.

My stamp organizer, on the wall, is sort of empty as this year SU retired a lot of the stamp pads I had and replaced them with other colors and I haven't gotten up to speed, yet.

Here's a closer photo of my nine Sterilite 3 drawer storage units that I had bought at Wal Mart and had in my stamp room in our house.  They fit perfectly stacked on top of one another and it leaves a little room on the right side to keep my Stampin' trimmer, Simply Scored Scoring Tool and a couple of other tools.

I have a round swivel organizer on the desk top that holds a lot of  smaller 'tools' like bone folder, scissors, pens, paper piercing tool, blender pens, Wink of Stella, Stampin' Spritzer....well, you get the idea.

In the storage drawers, I have scotch tape, snail adhesive, fast fuse, ATG tape, glue, glue dots, dimensionals, sponges, wet wipes, post it notes, heat tool, ribbons, enamel shapes, rhinestones, pearls, embossing folders, dies and framelits, paper clips, binder clips, command hooks, Dymo Labeler and labels, highlighters and sharpies, scissors, trimmer blades, acrylic blocks, embossing powders and silcone craft sheet and mats.

All of the above drawers have to be re-analyzed because some things I just don't use that often and I really need to have it fine tuned to what I absolutely use the most often.   Of course, some of those things are office supplies.

This room just holds the very basics.  I also have storage under our bed using 12 x 12 plastic storage boxes for designer paper, card stock and other supplies.  There are also a few items under the belly of our RV.  :-)

I am finally back to stamping and now when anyone tells me that they just don't have enough room to store all of their stuff, to stamp, I can tell them..... well, maybe so....but, if you at least have a closet....you can have enough room to have the basics!!  :-)

With that said, I don't have NEAR the 'stuff' I had in my house and garage....but then, did I even use most of that 'stuff'?  NOPE.....sad but so often true.

Hope this gave you a little idea of how I organized and store my stamping supplies.

Any questions, feel free to ask!!

Now, go stamp!!! :-)

Paper Pumpkin

PP_whats_inside

Have you seen the ads or heard about Paper Pumpkin?  I used to receive the Paper Pumpkin kit each month, and then we decided to go RVing for over a year and it wasn't going to work out having it delivered to different places each month.

Well, we are now situated for the next several months, as far as we know, and so I decided to re-subscribe!!  It's always fun to look forward to that little box coming in the mail.

If you have a big crafting area, like I did before we sold our home, it was just a fun little thing to get in the mail and put together with my Granddaughter when she came to visit.

BUT, now I am finding that my space is severely limited, yet I still enjoy stamping.  I do have a little stamp room in our RV and I will share about that at a later time but, my dilemma is that I have very limited space in which to keep all of my supplies.

So, I am thinking that I will start my Paper Pumpkin subscription back up and at LEAST have those to play with each month, along with some cards I make each month.  It's always fun and I always give away all the cards/projects that I make so I won't need room to store anything but the little stamp sets and the little ink pads.  :-)

Are you curious about Paper Pumpkin?  Do you have children or have some that you like to get together with and do fun projects?  Paper Pumpkin is an excellent way to spend an hour or two just following some simple directions and sending them home with their creations to hand out to friends and family!

You can go to Paper Pumpkin (just click on the link) and learn more and if it's something that sounds fun to you....SUBSCRIBE and use my name, Char Wilson, as your specified demonstrator, so I can receive credit for your signing up and if you ever need help, you'll know who to contact.

A great way to get introduced to the fun of stamping...too!!!

Have a great day!!

Back to stamping!!! Z Fold Card

UPDATE:  This was written months ago...probably back in April....sorry I just found it....but decided to send it anyway!!

YEAH!!!  I am finally back to stamping!!!

I'd sort of gotten into a slump over the past several months.  When you are traveling, and not sitting still for more than a few days, it's hard to get into the crafting mode.  At least for me!

Then, I got into a stamping mood....but didn't have enough room to 'set up' everything.  It was very frustrating to me.

SO, I bought a 6 foot craft table from Amazon and the rest is history.  Yes, it's a pain finding a place to put it when it's not in use....but oh well, I NEEDED to be able to spread out so I could stamp.  The little room we had converted into a craft room/office works great for keeping a lot of my supplies but then there was no room to actually use the table we had put in there.  AND, a lot of my other stamp supplies are either under the bed or in the 'garage' (which means it's under the belly of the RV) and that means it's not always handy when I want to stamp.

I'll share more about stamping on the road, later, but for today, I wanted to share a few cards I made using a simple card fold that I saw online.

I thought....oh that would be fairly simple to do....not a lot of cutting or fussing.  HA....what I forgot about is that once a stamper starts making cards, their mind kicks into overdrive and then they end up thinking of something different to do, using this stamp or that paper or those embellishments and that means bringing out more supplies!  Before I knew it, my crafting table was overflowing with 'stuff'.

When I had my craft room, at home, it wasn't a problem....everything was within reach of my table or it was only a step or two away.....and....if I got a ton of stuff out, I could just leave and close the door till I was finished.  But, in an RV....I set up my craft table and then it's all out in the main part of the RV.  We have to walk around that table....squeeze in behind that table to sit....well, it's just not the as convenient....and everything has to be brought out and put on the table.  BUT, at least I have a table now to leave my things set up for a day or two....it's just in the way ;-)  It is what it is!! :-)

So, here is the card that I came up with.  I used the Hostess Set, "Feathery Friends" #144037.  I had gotten this set back in July or August after the annual catalog came out.  Then, we got our 5th wheel....got on the road, and got busy volunteering this winter and stamping just took a back seat for a while, till I could figure out how to get everything organized.  But, it was always on my mind!!

The card base is a piece of Very Vanilla card stock cut at 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Then, I scored it at 4 1/4" and 1 1/4".  You fold it in half and then fold the one section back.  You can see in this photo.

The layers are 3" and the other one is 2 3/4.  You can use two different pieces of card stock or one card stock and one designer series paper or any other combos you choose.

Mine were fairly simple but you can dress them up with ribbon, rhinestones and even use framelits or punches to cut out your layers for the front.

Since, all my punches are at home in a storage shed and my Big Shot was under the belly of our 5th wheel...and I was too lazy to go retrieve it....I just used my trimmer to cut out layers for the fronts of my cards.

Hope this all makes sense :-)

Hugs,
Char

A note from Char

Hi Everyone,

Well, it's been an up and down year with my SU business.....and I was about ready to call it quits, this week, but I just can't quit without giving it another try.

We are now settled in for the Winter at an RV park in WA on the Columbia River...possibly longer if things work out and I can once again start doing classes and having fun making cards and sharing them on my blog.

For me, it's never been about the sales or how big I could get, it's about teaching people to make cards and have pride in their accomplishments.  If there was only 1 person show up for my classes, it was fine with me.

But, unfortunately, over the past year, I couldn't hold classes and if you don't sell enough, you are in danger of being deactivated and I wasn't able to devote the time to do my classes, being on the road, so I am really close to being deactivated.

I had thought about just allowing that to happen and I would just teach classes but the reality is that most people WANT what you used in your classes and have a source where they can get the supplies they used.

And, to be perfectly honest, I LOVE SU's cardstock and the quality of their other products!!!!

So, that brought me to the decision that I need to try, once again, to make this work.  I'm just not ready to quit.....and since I will only be working two days a week, and won't be on the road like we were there for about a year....I will have more time to devote to my card making.

So, if you are thinking about putting in an order, I would appreciate you thinking of me.

I'll also be updating my blog a LOT more often, too.

Wish me success!!!!

Tuesday, August 22, 2017

Well, I posted a blog just a bit ago and now I can't find it anywhere.  Go figure!!

So, I will attempt to redo it, but it probably won't be the same.  Such is the life of a blogger that doesn't plan their posts ;-)

We have been keeping busy while we away our RV.

During this time, I was invited to go to a get together with Rita at her Up-line's house.  We are both demonstrators for Stampin' UP! and the person that got her into SU has a monthly get together with her downline.

This is the view of her home, as we drove up her driveway.  I was a little intimidated, but had no reason to be.  She was one of the sweetest, nicest people.

Here is my friend getting ready to open the door.  She said, "Hurry up and take that dern picture"  LOL

I was welcomed with open arms.  And, not only that, I got to swap cards with 15 other gals.  What fun!

We listened to a talk by her up-line and then she demonstrated how to make a spinner card.  FUN!

Afterwards, I got to tour her awesome stamp room and class room, where she holds her classes for her customers.

Great stamp room!!!!  Only a stamper can truly appreciate how wonderful it would be to have this much room to stamp in!!

Then, the next evening, we drove into Cincinnati, OH to attend a stamping convention that is held every year.

We first met two stampers that belong to my stamping list on Yahoo.  What fun to finally get to meet someone you've only talked online to.

We met at Ruby Tuesday's and from the look of the surrounding tables, a lot of other stampers decided to meet up there before the convention, too.

And, last but not least was having my photo taken with Tim Holtz.  He is well known in the stamping world!!  I don't personally use many of his products but a lot of my friends, do.

To be perfectly honest, I only bought one item that whole night.  Other people were carrying bags full of stuff.  But, I knew that I didn't have anywhere to store it and was trying to be frugal!!

The next day, we went to the Ark down in KY.  I have another post just for that over on my travel blog at http://travelwithdaveandcharitsagodthing.blogspot.com/  What a great place to visit and spend an entire day!!

Have a great day!!!
