Black and White Thank You

Sunday, I took part in a challenge.  The challenge was to use either an oval or a circle (or both) on your card!

So, I chose to do both!  The reason I chose to do both was....I don't have every SU punch so I had to be creative!

I had just received the Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Mosaic punch and Modern Medley DSP so decided I would use those in creating my card.

My mind has been on Christmas and making Christmas cards so I decided to step away from Christmas and do a thank you card.  Although, the little Mosaic punch does remind me of an ornament  :-)

I absolutely love using punches and embossing folders!!   And, you can barely see them...but there is bling at the top of the punches and also in the O in You!!

Getting Organized and last day of 25% off sale

I missed a couple of days of sharing due to cleaning and reorganizing my craft room.  Oh the sense of accomplishment!!! :-)

Usually, I am ahead of the game, with my posting.... but getting this craft room organized seemed to take over my entire weekend and I am still not finished.

I have been PURGING my craft room, big time.  I have way too much 'stuff' to be able to really concentrate in here.   And, there is even more out in the garage.

Now, I want even MORE stuff....now that I have become a Stampin' UP! Demonstrator. So, I made up my mind, if I want MORE, I have to make room for it, right??  And, that means....I need to get rid of other stuff. Right?  I mean, there is only SO much room!!

Most of my 'STUFF' will be put in boxes for a big garage sale coming this June....but some 'STUFF', I am boxing up and saving.....as I just can't bear to get rid of it, quite yet.  Who knows, maybe by June...I'll change my mind.

I don't know about you, but I seem to be able to create so much easier when I have a clean and organized room.  I always have to clean my desk off entirely before I can start on a new project.  Not sure why that is....I don't actually think I am anal...but then maybe I am.  I want everything in it's place and a place for everything.

That can be a challenge for a small bedroom turned craft room...but I am UP to the challenge.

I'm not finished......but hope to be by the end of the week.

Where oh where.....

has this month gone to???  Oh my....do you realize....that Halloween is just 6 days away?  I have to admit, we don't do much for Halloween, I prefer to decorate for Fall.  We do pass out candy to the little ones (?) that come knocking at our door....but other than that, I just would rather concentrate on FALL!!!  My most favorite time of year.

I am taking my 18 year old Granddaughter one of these cute little bags filled with her favorite candy!!  She loves Candy Corn,  blech....I would rather see chocolate in there.  :-) But, it's what she likes.

I made up some extra bags for her to give out to her friends at college and also those Turkey treat cups that I showed yesterday.

Need I remind you that Thanksgiving is just 34 days away??? That is just a little over a month.  Then.....CHRISTMAS!!!!!

To make the little owl bag above with the exception of the nose, as she used the blossom builder punch and SU doesn't carry that any more.  But, this is what we did in class....and I didn't take time to re-do it.  :-(

Turkey Treat Cup Card

This is a card we made in class....

Of course, you can't send these through the mail (well, you CAN but you would have to put them in a box of some sort)

I came home and made 10 more of these, using a different 'nose'.  I punched the nose using the Petite Curly Label punch, cut in half diagonally.  I thought it turned out really cute.

We used the Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper, Sweet Treat Cups, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, google eyes and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  (a very versatile set with 24 sentiments for most every holiday and other events for the entire year)

Snow Day!!

Well, thankfully, not yet!!!  At least not here in Oregon!

Monthly Newsletter....I DID IT!!

So, I'll hand myself a bouquet of Daisies....one of my favorite flowers!!

I decided that I needed to send out a monthly newsletter rather than relying on my blog to get the word out about my card clubs, classes and other things.

This way, those that want to know ahead of time about what's going on at Paws N Stamp with Char will have it all in one place rather than scattered about many blog posts.

My idea is this, after I get everything set up....probably after the 1st of the year....I'll be sending out updates about monthly card classes where you can sign up to take part via e-mail.  Yes, that's right.

I'll send out a monthly newsletter giving you different options of things to take part in.  I plan on having classes in my home from time to time and I will be starting up Card Clubs where you can get 5 other people together to form a club.   You commit to 6 months at $25 a month and every month a different person receives the hostess benefits!!   For a workshop to qualify for hostess benefits through Stampin' UP, you must have a $150 workshop.....so this makes sure you meet those requirements.  BUT....you aren't limited to that when it's your turn.  You can gather more orders and have an even bigger workshop.

These can be virtual clubs.....and I will explain all that later.....where you pay ahead of time and then I send out your card kits, by a certain date and you can get together with the other members and make your cards.

You can also opt to have a real life workshop where the 6 of you get together and we do the cards together, each month.  Still the same requirements.....6 people/6 months!  And, someone different gets to be the hostess each month.  Of course, it will depend on where you live, too ;-)

Also, I will have mystery hostess workshops online.....hopefully each month.

I'm really excited and hope you will join me on my new journey!!!

I'll have a Blue Christmas

Ok, I know, that title smacks of Elvis. Sorry, couldn't resist :-) But, this card, other than color, is in no way blue or depressing.

This is the second card we made at my Open House!!

I love how the stripes in the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper coordinate with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions folder.

Before I list the supplies used, I wanted to update you on some ideas I have floating around in my head.

First off, if you would like to be on my mailing list for my monthly newsletter (which will be starting in December) where I will be sharing upcoming classes, stamp camps, Stamp Clubs, any specials SU may have and other information....please send me an e-mail so that I can get you on the list.  I may send out an e-mail with this information until I can get my newsletter set up.

The reason for the e-mail, in order to send out a Monthly Newsletter, as opposed to only posting here on the blog is that most people read their e-mails sooner than they do the blogs they follow and I wouldn't want you to miss anything.  PLUS, I don't want to send e-mails to people that may not be interested.

It's going to take a little bit to get myself up and going with all these new ideas I have floating around in my head.....as there is STILL so much to learn, especially with blogging.  But, hang in there with me.......I'll git er done!!!

Oooh those Framelits!!!!

 Oh gosh, I absolutely love the Thinlit dies that Stampin' UP has come out with.  I can't seem to quit making cards with them.

This is one of the cards that we made at my Open House on Thursday, October 17th.

Doesn't it just speak Christmas with the red, green and silver???

And, how easy to put together!!

Learning how to put the designer paper on just right so that you can run the entire card through the Big Shot took a little practice, but after that, I was popping those babies out like crazy!!
