Fall is HERE??

I was so happy when I turned the calendar to OCTOBER!!!  YES, Fall...my favorite time of year!!!  But, although the calendar says October, it has still been in the high 80's.  Although, I have to say, I am enjoying the clear blue skies and beautiful weather. 

Having said all of that.....Happy Fall!!!  What do you think of when you think of the word Fall??

My mind automatically goes to cooking, baking, Fall leaves, pumpkins and eventually Thanksgiving.  But, that's moving right along and I'm not ready to be THAT far into Fall, just yet.

I have been busy working on Fall cards and even sneaking in a few Christmas cards, here and there.  I will be focusing mostly on Christmas Cards for my Card Buffet for November and also December.  Read more about my Card Buffet at the top on the Card Buffet tab.

Here is a simple card I made to welcome in Fall.  It is made with the "Holiday Home" bundle in the SU Holiday catalog. 

This bundle is so much fun!!!  I am going to try and come up with a card for every season, using this stamp set and framelits.

The background was made using the little leaf, tree and pumpkin stamps in the set.

And, I LOVE this ribbon!!!  This particular one is called Hello Honey but it also comes in the other "In Colors"; Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Lost Lagoon and Tangelo Twist.

Exciting news about Blendabilities!!

Welcome to OCTOBER!!!  Can you tell I am excited about FALL??

And, I have some good news to share, as well!!
Stampin' Up! has determined that we can use more than just Memento Black Ink with our Blendabilities.  Check the chart below to see what Classic Ink Pads can also be used to stamp your image.  Note that it is still recommended to use only Whisper White Cardstock.

What Sets Them Apart:

• The Stampin' Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away.
• Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker.
• Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine.
• Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray.
• Color-coded caps.
• Stampin' Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock and can be used with transparent sheets.

Stampin' Blendabilities are designed to work with our Memento Ink Pad. The markers also work well with several of our Classic Stampin' Pads, noted below.

Fall is around the corner

That's right, Fall is just around the corner. The nights, here, are getting chillier and with Fall comes Halloween.

My Granddaughter LOVES Halloween but mostly anything to do with PUMPKINS.

I made this card for her using the Fall Fest stamp set from SU and the Fun Fall Framelits.
I have had a blast using this set.  Actually it comes in a bundle so you can save some money.
The bundle is 137628 and it is $34.75.  If bought separately it would be $40.90.....so you save $6.15.
I also used the stamp set You Little Furball #134150 clear.
The designer paper I used is part of the new Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper in the new holiday catalog.  LOVE this paper.  See the eyes peeking through the trees??

I just cut out the ghost using my framelit and put some eyes on him....and attached him to the card using Wobble Springs (I purchased from Amazon.com)

The cat, I had to fussy cut.....and added him to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

The ribbon is not SU....but some cute ribbon I had on hand....and thought it was appropriate with this card.

SIMPLE!!!!  But, I also used this card at a stamping retreat over the weekend and they liked it.

Another thing I have done with the ghost is to cut him out of Glimmer paper and I have also stamped and embossed him.  So much fun!!!

Summer is over .....and a New Stamp Set is available!!!

It's been an incredibly busy last 30+ days, but it should start slowing down now that my 50 year class Reunion, all the birthday celebrations and summer are pretty much over.  What a whirlwind of activity!!!  Oh well, it keeps me young??

Summertime is.....crazy

 And, Summertime is busy!  And, LAZY!!!  When it's hot outside, I don't have a lot of ambition!!  Just keeping it honest and real ;-)

We don't have Air Conditioning in our home except for a window unit in the bedroom, so when it gets over 80+ outside, it's also about the temperature inside as well.  When we had that couple weeks or so of over 90+ weather, I couldn't even think about making cards in this hot room.

Anyway, I am starting to make cards again and right now am working on the cards for my Card Buffet for September, so I haven't been making many others.

Here is one, that I may have posted awhile back, but it's one of my favorites and SO EASY to put together.  It uses the Flower Shop stamp set and Pansy punch.

The trick is in lining up the stamp and punch.  I found a sort of easy way to accomplish that but you have to do it when you first get your stamp set.

If you use clear mount, you need to do this before you take them out of the rubber tray they come in.  Then, you just mark your punch at the right petal and also the petal on each stamp at exactly the same place.

Pumpkins in the night......

Here is the first card I made with one of the new stamp sets from the Holiday mini catalog, that will be available to order from on August 28th!!  It is from a Bundle called, "Fall Fest".  It includes a stamp set and Framelits to match.

Sort of primitive, but it's a 'mock up' of the card that I will be doing with my Granddaughter when she comes to visit in September.

I figured it will be simple enough for her to do....with a little help from Grandma.

You can't really tell from the photo but the ghost is attached to the card using Action Wobble Springs.  I purchased them from Amazon.com.

I used the Fringe scissors to make the 'grass'.

My Granddaughter LOVES pumpkins and going to the Pumpkin Patch, so I need to come up with a Pumpkin Patch card ;-)

How NOT to ruin your cards!!!

Well, after a little over 2 months, I am back to blogging again.  

I'll have to be truthful and say that I decided to take a small break,  but then it turned into a HUGE break!!  Not intentionally.

Funny how you can stop doing something (like exercising or whatever) and mean to get right back to it, but pretty soon....it's a change that's hard to get back to!  Does that make sense??

Even though I wasn't posting on my blog, I was busy, busy, busy making cards, still doing the Stamp Of The Month and my monthly newsletter.

I decided, the other day, when I was doing my Card Buffet (this is in place of the SOTM), that I really needed to get back to my blog.  Even if no one ever reads it, it's good therapy for me!

Well, I wanted to share what happened the other day and offer a suggestion, (that all of us stampers and scrappers KNOW but just in case you have never had this happen...beware).

I was working on my Card Buffet (more information about that on the Card Buffet tab) and had all my photos taken, edited and my Tutorials all completed.  I clicked SAVE and began printing.

Well, long story short, I had a plate on top of my printer.....and when the printer was printing, the plate started to move and came down and hit a full cup of coffee and my cards and knocked them ALL to the floor.  I had just gotten up from the computer to go do something while my Tutorials were printing and heard a loud crash....and turned around to see all 10 cards laying in a big puddle of coffee, with my plate in three pieces!  I immediately got my cards up and out of that mess and put them on a counter to dry.

I cleaned up the mess and then went back to see how much damage was done to the cards.  Well, you can see one of them, below, and the rest were varying degrees of the same thing. On this card, I was trying out the new Hearts & Stars Decorative Masks.

This is the set I used this month, for the Card Buffet, since I had already announced it as the SOTM.

                               

I was sick!!!  But, then again, I was happy as I had already photographed them so there really wasn't a problem with getting my Card Buffet out that day.  :-)

My plate (a part of a set of Doulton that someone had given to me) was trashed....but my TIGGER mug was SAFE!!!

So, I have learned that liquids should be no where near my cards!!!!  Although, I still have a cup of coffee or other drink on my desk when I am stamping, I keep them way away from my cards and no longer put a plate on my printer....sigh

So, really, all I was out was my cards that I had worked on for days.

But, lesson learned.....don't eat at the computer and put your plate on the printer for later.  

I am also thankful that my cell phone wasn't sitting on that side of the desk, as it usually is.

Father's Day is a comin!!

Good Morning,

It's a gorgeous day in Oregon, blue skies and going to be warm.  I thought I would share with you one of the cards that was just one of the cards in my Stamp of the Month card kits this month.  I don't normally do this, but thought it would be a good Father's Day card for someone you may know.

I just LOVE, LOVE the Hardwood stamp.  It's in the new catalog and I just love how it looks stamped in Smokey Slate.  But, I am going to make more cards using this background stamp with different colors just for fun!

I plan on playing, this week, and getting more card samples up for you to see.  

I will be having an open house, at my home, on June 2nd from 9am till 4pm if any of you are in the area and would like to come see some of the new items up close and personal ;-)

I will have samples for you see and we'll be doing one or two make and takes.  I will also demonstrate some of the new products.

Just a FYI, I may have to postpone the Open House, due to a friend that is dying, but if I do have to make a quick trip to WA state, ...I will make sure anyone that has planned on coming....knows before hand and is given the new date.  Sorry, but it's hard to plan things when something like this is going on.

So, IF you do plan on coming or even think you may be coming, drop me a note so that I can update you, should the date have to be changed.

MAY!!!! It's finally MAY!!!

What a gorgeous day!!!  I never never get tired of seeing this Mountain from my home or on my walks!!

Or these Mountains to the south of me, that I can see when I walk up to get the mail!

Anyway, today is MAY 1st!!!  I am excited because that means that JUNE follows.....and I am preparing for my New Catalog Open House, on June 2.

Also, June is when my Granddaughter comes to visit for a few weeks!!!

Oh how I wish I could post some of the fun stuff in the catalog....but for now....all I can post is the new Catalog cover.

BUT.....I just placed my pre-order, this morning, and so I hope to have some samples up soon using some of the new items.  :-)
