What a wonderful Week!!!

My how the week has flown. It's been a very busy but fun week. I had two Funshops and Valentine's Day in the middle! Lots to prepare for, but it really got my creative juices flowing.

This card was done using Matchmaker paper and glossy cardstock using the Faux Polished Stone Technique. I used TAC's, Classy Lady, from the Jubilee brochure.

Actually, we changed it up a bit AT the Funshop. One of the gals had the "Running Stitches" stamp set with her and one of them....the "feather stitch" looks like chicken prints....so we used that one. Then, we left one of the photos off the card, so that you could see the 'chicken scratches'. I'll try to get one of those uploaded too.

Here is the Valentine's card I sent to my Grandkids.

I got the idea from a friend, Peg, who gave me almost the exact Valentine. I thought....why work my brain....this is GREAT!!! It's small....and I got three in an envelope! :-)

I have to show you how my Friendship box turned out. I didn't take photos of the sides, but it has the TAC Flourishes stamp on the sides and back.

Now, I want to try another one!!! But, I have to finish my Scrapbook in a Box first!

This is a masculine 'not too traditional' Valentine's Day card I made for my DH. I used the Kamlaht exclusive background paper from TAC and the BIG SHOT to cut out my bookplate and then just ran ribbon thru it. I also put another layer of Kamlaht on the inside to hide the ribbon.

What fun!!!!

Today a friend came over and we made a Friendship Box which we had seen on SplitCoastStampers message board.
She arrived at 12:30 pm and we were finished around 4pm. Oh gosh, these were fun, altho, labor intensive.

Here is my attempt. It isn't finished yet....but it's on it's WAY!!!

Day 2b Scrapbook in a box

I am still learning and can't seem to figure out how to add photos and have them among the rest of the blog...so will just have to work around that till I do figure it out.

There are three pages on each side, to add photos to. I am making a 'family' one first....then I will do one for each of my Sons and Granddaughters. This is my small step into scrapbooking, for now.

Day Two of my blogging

Well, I missed a few days....and that is par for me on message boards or Blogs!!! I seem to have to be reminded to do this. But, I am trying to teach myself to do it with some form of regularity!!!

This weekend, I spent the majority of my time playing around with a Scrapbook in a box. Oh what fun!!!! I loved making these. I haven't even BEGUN to do the scrapbooking part....but the boxes were a blast!!!


Monday and Tuesday were spent working on two upcoming workshops. I will probably do the same things as they are in different locations. I am going to have them do a favorite technique of mine...the masking tape technique where you put little pieces of masking tape all over a piece fo cardstock and then smudge three different colors of ink on it...and then emboss over all of that. It looks like tile or something...can't really describe it...but I'll add a photo soon.

The other is a card using our TAC background papers and stamping a vase with a flower in it....and then showing how to use crystal laquer to give a water effect! Plus showing how to turn white organza ribbon into a color to match your card using the ink you used on the card.

Today is the day!

Well, I have decided to join the ranks and start a BLOG so that I could share what I am doing with you!

Lately, I have been working on 'books'. I made these very simply and I am sure you can add to them and bring it up a notch, but I basically came up with the idea for my Granddaughters and I to do while they were here for Christmas vacation.

Since then, I have made other 'books' using the Drill press from TAC. It is a $30 investment but I got it for half off by having a workshop. I have found that I use it a LOT.

Here is another idea using the drill press:

They are so easy because you can drill thru all your cardstock or index cards at once.
